My Five Secrets For A Perfect Hair

Growing my hair became a big challenge for me ever since I came to England. For some reason my hair was refusing to grow longer than shoulder's length. It took me quite a while to get to the perfect combination of hair-dye, cleansing, nourishment, volume and styling.

These are my 5 steps to a lengthy, shiny and healthy hair:

1. Hair dye: Garnier Olia. Not only that it smells divine, but it doesn’t damage the hair compared to other brands. I'm always using the same color, 7.13 Dark Beige Blonde. I used to have it coloured light blonde and I was bleaching it periodically. That was damaging my hair a lot and blocking it from growing. Now, I can go for about one month, one month and half without dyeing.

2. Hair wash and conditioning: Elvive Dream Length. These are absolutely amazing products, I wasn’t expecting the quality you get, but best believe your hair will grow very fast while staying shiny and silky. I highly recommend and they are not even pricey. Win win.

3. Nourishment: Matrix Oil Wonders/Amazonian Murumuru. Because I chose to wash my hair only one time per week, it definitely needs some oils to keep the locks and scalp moisturised. This is the perfect product, I have been using it for years now. I am applying it on damp hair or dry, but always before using heat. It does offer quite a good protection against the aggression while styling the hair with different heated products.

4. Volume: GoFybr Natural Cotton Hair Fibers. Because I have been suffering all my life with PCOS, I’m also dealing with hair loss and thinning. These fibers give an instant volume, they last long and they do not stain your clothes or the pillow covers. Before using this product I would get lots of mean comments from people pointing out to my hair loss, but now, because of this little secret, I only get compliments 😊 It surely boosted my confidence by a lot.

5. Styling: GHD Rise Volumising Brush. This is by far the perfect brush if your hair is dry and frizzy. I would never manage to get silky, soft hair without this awesome product. It is pretty expensive, I'm not going to deny that, but, on the long run it's worth it. I would never change it for a different one now. I stopped using hair straighteners, hair dryers and other heated accessories. This surely saved my hair and helped it grow longer.

Other little secrets for keeping your hair as healthy as possible:
- make sure you comb every night before going to bed;
- try to wear your hair down rather than in a ponytail (as much as possible);
- do not abuse hair products that may contain lots of chemicals such as hair sprays, foams or dry shampoos;
- avoid exposing your hair to the sun for a long period of time or at least make sure you moisturize it properly before;
- cut your ends periodically which also helps with hair growing.

I really hope you like my article and I'll try to come up with more secrets and tips, depending on the theme I'll choose to write about.

Stay tuned!
